
Kenneth Verboven
Kenneth Verboven is trained as biomedical scientist (2012) and obtained his PhD in Biomedical Sciences in 2017 from Maastricht University (the Netherlands) and Hasselt University (Belgium). After a postdoc at Hasselt University, he got a tenure-track professor position at the same institution (2021). He is affiliated to the Rehabilitation Research Group (REVAL) and the Biomedical Research Institute (BIOMED), where he started his Laboratory for Integrative Exercise Physiology while coordinating the Exercise & Muscle technology platform. He is co-author of more than 50 peer-reviewed international scientific papers. His main research focus is to increase the understanding of adipose tissue derived extracellular vesicles in mediating interorgan crosstalk and regulating metabolic control (during exercise).
